Dental Insurance: Frequently Asked Questions
- 1. Does Exceptional Smiles Take My Insurance?
We want you to receive exceptional dental care. We are happy to work with all PPO dental insurance companies (we do not accept HMOs and Medicare). While we may not be in network with your insurance, we will happily submit your insurance claims and help you to maximize your benefits.
- 2. What Does Out-of-Network Mean?
If Exceptional Smiles is listed as “out-of-network” for your dental insurance plan, it means that we are not contracted with your specific insurance company. However, it doesn’t mean that we will not accept you as a patient or that you will not have any coverage at all with our providers. Rest assured that our dental clinic strives for the highest level of patient care, and we intend to work diligently with your current dental insurance coverage to make our dental services as affordable as possible, even if your plan is considered out-of-network.
- 3. What are My Options If I Need a Treatment That is Not Covered?
Our Landerbrook dental office is proud to offer multiple valued payment options for patients who are without dental insurance or find that their plan does not cover (or fully cover) certain treatments. Patients may choose from Lending Club or CareCredit, which are flexible financing plans that are easy to apply for and allow you to set up a payment schedule that meets your budget needs. We also encourage patients to consider our special in-house VIP membership plan to lessen the financial burden of dental care for your family.
- 4. What Can I Expect My Dental Insurance to Cover?
While every dental insurance plan is unique, a typical dental insurance plan will cover two routine preventative dental visits per year, which includes a professional dental cleaning every six months and any necessary x-rays. If further dental treatments are needed, most insurance plans will offer partial coverage or a percentage off the treatment. Depending on your specific dental insurance plan, you may also have benefits towards orthodontic treatment, which can also be applied toward Invisalign.
